Speaker Design
The design of the TREBLAB FX100 strikes a balance between modern aesthetics and rugged functionality. Its robust build is designed to withstand various environmental challenges, making it an excellent option for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and beach parties. The speaker boasts an IPX4 water resistance rating, protecting it from splashes and ensuring it can handle unexpected drizzles.
Sound Performance
One of the standout features of the TREBLAB FX100 is its impressive sound performance. Equipped with dual 12W drivers, this Bluetooth speaker delivers a stunningly powerful audio experience. The FX100’s 360-degree surround sound technology ensures that music is evenly distributed in all directions, filling the room with immersive audio. From crisp highs to deep lows, the FX100 captures the nuances of every genre, making it suitable for everything from EDM to classical.
Speaker Controls & Connectors
On the right of the speaker, you’ll find the control panel offering 5 multi-functional buttons. These include Power On/Off; Play/Pause; Volume Up/Down; Track Next/Previous; and Call Answer/End. An LED light located above the control panel flashes red and/or blue to let you know when the FX100 is powered on, connected via Bluetooth, or when music is playing.
Additionally, the TREBLAB FX100 offers features such as bass boost, voice assistant compatibility, and an FM radio. A short press of the Power button will enable Bass Boost mode. Whereas pressing the Power button twice (while the speaker is turned on) will enable the FM Radio. To activate your voice assistant, simply press the Phone button twice.
Located beneath a rubber housing on the front face of the speaker, you’ll find the AUX port. Similarly, the power bank can be found on the left side of the speaker, underneath the red TREBLAB logo. The power bank is a truly useful feature, allowing you to keep your devices charged while hiking or camping. Pressing the DC OUT button located on the power bank panel will activate the Power Bank Mode and display the remaining battery level. We’re also happy to report that the TREBLAB FX100 will continue to play music, even while the power bank is in use!
Sound Quality
In terms of sound quality, the TREBLAB FX100 is on par with other Bluetooth Speakers at this price point. Two 5 Watt drivers deliver left/right stereo separation with a frequency response of 80Hz – 20kHz. A common dilemma of portable Bluetooth speakers is their lack of bass response, and the FX100 is no different. In order to compensate for this, TREBLAB has included a Bass Boost Mode. However, if bass is what you’re after – you may be left disappointed here.
Poor bass performance aside, the TREBLAB FX100 offers forward and clear mids, with a bright treble. Adjusting the EQ settings on your smart device will greatly improve the overall sound quality experience and help eliminate distortion and muddiness. Bass performance is significantly improved with an adjusted EQ as well.
In terms of volume, the TREBLAB FX100 delivers! At 25% volume, the FX100 provides enough volume for adequate background music. At 50% volume, the FX100 will bring the party to the pool. While sound does distort at max volume (as with most speakers), you would rarely/never need to listen at this volume. Designed to be used outdoors, where sound travels, the TREBLAB FX100 offers more than enough volume.
Technical Specs & Features
Shockproof & Splashproof
Built to withstand the rigours of outdoor adventures, the TREBLAB FX100 comes with an IPX4 water-resistant rating. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, hiking in the rain, or relaxing at the beach, this speaker is designed to endure splashes and light showers, giving you the confidence to take your tunes wherever you go.
Battery Life and Charging
In terms of battery life, the FX100 doesn’t disappoint. With a built-in 7000mAh rechargeable battery, it offers an impressive playtime of up to 35 hours on a single charge, making it a reliable companion for extended outdoor adventures or weekend getaways.
Power Bank
Taking a closer look at the power bank, the TREBLAB FX100 offers a standard USB 2.0 port – compatible with all mobile devices. While using the power bank will drain the battery faster, you’re still able to continue playing music even when the power bank is in use. Enabling Power Bank Mode is easy, simply press the red DC OUT button found within the power bank housing.
AUX Connection
For those who prefer a wired connection, the TREBLAB FX100 includes a 3.5mm AUX cable for you to connect to the speaker with. It’s important to note here that music control, as well as phone call management, is not supported via the speaker’s control panel for AUX connections. This will need to be managed on your smart device instead.
Bass Boost
With a frequency range starting at 80Hz, the TREBLAB FX100 lacks low-end bass frequency. To compensate for this, the speaker is equipped with a Bass Boost function. Simply short-press the Power button to enable it. I would suggest adjusting the EQ on your smart device as well, in order to find your preferred sweet spot. Using the boost by itself can sometimes result in a muddy and distorted sound.
FM Radio
Video might have killed the radio star, but the TREBLAB XR100 certainly keeps radio alive with its FM Radio feature. To access this feature, simply press the Power button twice (ensuring that the speaker is turned on first). While FM Mode can be enabled by using either an AUX cable or Bluetooth, you will need to use the included 3.5mm AUX cable in order to receive a decent signal. Press the Play/Pause button to scan for available channels. Once scanned, you can select either the Volume + or Volume – button to change the selected FM channel.
Wireless Connectivity & True Wireless Stereo (TWS)
The TREBLAB FX100 offers Bluetooth 5.0 + EDR. Bluetooth 5.0 offers a faster and more stable connection compared to previous Bluetooth versions. EDR stands for Enhanced Data Rate. Similar to Bluetooth 5.0, EDR allows for faster speeds and an improvement in battery life as well. Enabling TWS Mode lets you pair two TREBLAB FX100 speakers together and enjoy a True Wireless Stereo sound.
Phone Calls & Voice Assistant
With an integrated microphone included in the TREBLAB FX100 speaker, you can take calls and activate the voice assistant on your smart device. The cVc 6.0 microphone technology is designed to filter out background noise and offer clear voice capture. This is a convenient feature if you’re swimming or in a situation where you can’t immediately access your phone.
